SIIC leader mulls Iraqi developments with AL envoy

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Leading figure of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakim, on Friday discussed with the Head of the Arab League mission to Iraq Ambassador Hani Khalaf the latest political developments in Iraq and the AL role in boost Iraqi-Arab relations. “The meeting tackled the latest political developments in Iraq as well as in the Arab arena,” according to a statement released from the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “For his part, Ambassador Khalaf hailed Ammar al-Hakim’s role in strengthening Iraq’s relations with Arab and Islamic countries, expressing AL’s readiness to attend the provincial councils elections as supervisors to support the democratic process in Iraq and render it a success,” the statement added.
