Religious Authority calls for active participation in next PCs elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Religious Authority, Basheer al-Najafi, called for a wide active participation in the next Provincial Council elections.

A statement by his office received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying while receiving a delegation from Hilla city on Wednesday “The next elections are close so you have to nominate those who value Iraq well.”

The statement added that “He stressed the importance of the next stage and the role of the Iraqis in it.”

“Iraqis must enjoy the resources of the country,” the statement noted.

“He answered the questions of the delegation members over the current situation and the way of choosing the candidates in the next elections,” the statement concluded.
