Army is no longer politicized – PM
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi prime minister and commander in chief, Nouri al-Maliki, on Tuesday said that Iraq’s army is no longer “politicized” by any party, according to a release issued by the council of ministers’ media office. “The Iraqi army is currently built on bases of professionalism and patriotism,” the release that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency quoted al-Maliki saying during a celebration organized by the Iraqi general command of armed forces for the army day. “The army’s new belief is the patriotic belief that respects people and the political process,” he added.
