Tuma attributes surge of violence in Iraq to sectarian rhetoric escalation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ammar Tuma, member of the parliament Security & Defense Committee attributed the surge of violence in Iraq to the escalation of the sectarian rhetoric.

Tuma said on Tuesday “The spate of terrorist attacks over the past week proves the growth of the terrorism in Iraq encouraged by the weak performance of the security forces and lack of proactive operations to track down the armed groups’ cells.”

“The terrorist groups are using the current demonstrations as cover for their inhumane operations,” he added.

Tuma continued saying “Leaving the sectarian rhetoric advocators without punishment encouraged them to continue their criminal acts.”

Baghdad witnessed a series of car bombs explosions in different parts, while car bomb also went off in Babel along with other IEDs in Anbar, Salah il-Din and Nineveh provinces.
