IAF to nominate parliament’s speaker on Saturday – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Lawmaker Adnan al-Dulaimi of the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF) Sunni parliamentary bloc on Thursday said that the IAF will meet next Saturday (Jan. 10) to nominate a candidate for the position of the Iraqi parliament’s speaker. “There are a number of names proposed within the Front in this regard, and we will agree on one of them to nominate a legislator who must gain acceptance from all the political blocs,” al-Dulaimi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Lawmakers who nominated themselves from outside the IAF have had no formal nomination, as the position of parliament’s speaker belongs to the Front,” he added.
