Iraq hands Qatar presidency of Arab League

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari, handed Qatar the presidency of the Arab League, 24th round.

A statement by the Iraqi FM cited on Sunday “Zibari chaired the Arab League council on Sunday during which he stressed Iraq’s constant stance towards the Arab region’s issues most notably the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis.”

The Minister pointed out in his speech “Iraq supports the legitimate aspirations of all Syrian people and condemns the violence and fighting while calls to stop the bloodshed and resolve the crisis via peaceful solution and dialogue away from the foreign interventions.”
