Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi government announced conducting the private amnesty for the convicts with excluding the men and women not included in the private amnesty law which is supervised by the Cabinet’s Secretariat General in order to complete the legal documents to be submitted then to the Presidency office and the Cabinet for approval.

A statement by the Council of Ministers cited on Tuesday “The CoM held regular meeting on Tuesday chaired by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki where the ministerial commission tasked to consider the demonstrators’ demands was commissioned to prepare general amnesty law draft for women convicted with terrorism crimes, financial corruption on condition of paying back the misappropriated funds, along with the ordinary crimes.”

“The Iraqi Government approved the law over reserving and confiscating the movable and immovable moneys belonging to the last regime as well,” the statement added.

“The CoM stressed the validity of the decision No.118 for 2013 related to postponing the upcoming local elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces especially the postponement was based on the concerned security authorities’ reports,” the statement concluded.
