Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Asmaa al-Mousawi, The advisor of the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, contradicted Sadr’s opinion by supporting postponing the next elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), she said “The head of the Council of Ministers recommended to reconsider the decision of postponing the next local elections in Anbar and Nineveh provinces where the decision was transferred to a legal committee to decide whether these provinces are reading to host the elections or not.”

“We are surprised for the objection of Nineveh Governor, Athil al-Nijaifi, for holding the elections on time which makes us question the means and the results behind this objection,” she added.

“If the security situation is good, the masses will be ready to participate in the elections but Nijaifi’s insistence may result in violating the elections and changing its result,” she concluded.
