Barzani, Azher Mosque delegation discuss upgrading mutual ties

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) Kurdistan Region’s President, Masoud Barzani, discussed with senior delegation from Azher Mosque of Egypt, upgrading the relations between Kurdistan people and the Egyptian people, and among the rest Islamic peoples.

A statement by Kurdistan Region presidency cited on Thursday “Barzani received on Thursday in Salah il-Din Resort in Erbil, top delegation from Azher Mosque headed by Abdul Fadhil al-Qousi, former Minister of Endowments.”

“The delegation’s members expressed their gratitude for the warm reception they received from the Kurdish officials, stressing the importance of the historical relations between the Kurds and Egypt,” the statement added.

“For his part, Barzani expressed his happiness to this visit, praising Azher Mosque’s important role as being a notable scientific and religious pillar, in developing the ties between Kurdistan people Egypt as well as the Mosque’s role in promoting moderation and peaceful co-existence culture among peoples,” the statement concluded.
