No voting on speakership today – Shiite MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Lawmaker Jamal al-Saaedi from the Shiite United Iraqi Alliance (UIA) on Saturday ruled out a parliamentary vote today on the position of the Parliament’s speaker, noting that an agreement has not yet been reached in this regard. “The nomination will be concluded within the coming few days,” al-Saaedi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “A list of names will be proposed for voting,” he said. “Such a process is unprecedented in the Iraqi parliament,” he added.
