Talabani arrives in Kuwait for Arab economic summit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived on Sunday in neighboring Kuwait to attend the Arab economic summit there, due to start on Monday, according to the semi-official al-Iraqiya TV. Talabani was received by Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, the channel said. “Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Labid Abbawi, Deputy Premier Rafie al-Issawi and ministers of oil, finance and trade Hussein al-Shahrestani, Baqer Jabr al-Zubaydi and Abdelfalah al-Sudani were among the delegation accompanying Talabani,” it added. Iraq is taking part in the Arab economic summit, to be held on January 19-20, at the level of kings and heads of state. The meeting is expected to discuss the issues between Iraq and Kuwait, including the debts. AmR (P) 1
