Sistani reiterates calls on Iraqis to participate in election

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: Top Shiite Cleric Sayyid Ali al-Sistani on Monday reiterated his calls for Iraqis to participate in the upcoming provincial election, stressing his neutral stance towards all political blocs, according to a release issued by his office in Najaf. “Sistani urges all citizens, men and women, to participate in the upcoming election, despite his dissatisfaction with previous elections,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The cleric stands within the same distance from all nominees, and stresses that after checking, voters should vote for those qualified for the membership of provincial councils,” it added.
