Diyala Governor holds security forces responsible for violence against worshipers

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) Diyala Governor, Omar al-Hamiri, held the security forces responsibility for targeting the worshipers in Iraq, calling to reveal the investigation results to the public as soon as possible.

Hamiri said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “We strongly condemn targeting Friday Prayer worshipers in Sariya Mosque of central Baqouba, capital of Diyala and appreciate the clergymen’ role in calming down the worshipers and preserving the security.”

He called on all “the political and religious sides to denounce this criminal act to unify the national rhetoric.”

“The security forces bear the responsibility for the bombing that targeted the worshipers on last Friday in central Baqouba as being responsible for providing security for the worshipers,” he added.

An IED has blew up on last Friday targeting Friday worshipers in central Baqouba, resulted in injuring seven worshipers.
