Sadr Trend denies voting on amending Debaathification law
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Sadr Trend headed by Muqtada al-Sadr confirmed that “The Ministers of the Sadr Trend did not vote on amending the Justice and Accountability procedures to exempt the former Baath Party Members from punishments,” noting that “The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki supported giving privileges for the Baathists.”
MP Ali al-Timimi of the Sadr Trend stated to IraqiNews.com “The Ministers of the Sadr Trend did not vote on the amendments of the J&A law,” stressing that “Voting on the amendments on April 7th is dancing on wounds of the Baath’s victims.”
“The Iraqi People through next provincial elections will punish those who wasted the People’s rights to stay on throne,” he emphasized.
