5 Clubs form professional Basketball Association

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Five basketball clubs within the Premier basketball league formed a new association for professional basketball clubs.The media bureau of the Basketball Association stated to IraqiNews.com ”The five clubs, which formed the association, are Shurta, Kahraba, Karkh, Tathamun club form Najaf and the Southern Oil Club from Basra.””The reason behind forming the new association is to protect the rights of the Iraqi basketball clubs especially after the arbitrary aggressive acts taken by the current union against the clubs that participate in the premier league during the current league competitions,” the statement added.”The association welcomes the Iraqi profesional clubs to join it,” the statement pointed out.The association called the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Iraqi Olympic Committee and the Sports and Youth Parliamentary Committee to take decisive measures against the current Basketball Association. \END\
