Saadi calls to cancel special voting in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Independent MP Sabah al-Saadi called to cancel the special voting of the next local elections in future and merge it with the general polling to avoid skepticism over the special voting.

Saadi mentioned on Wednesday “The elections in general is considered to be a taste to the integrity and the extent of its compliance with the international criterions.”

“The current situation lacks the international norms related to the special voting where senior military leaders and officers who are close to the General Commander for Armed Forces oblige the security elements to vote for favor of the Premier Nouri al-Maliki,” he added.
