Maliki stresses importance of prioritizing national interest

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Friday stressed the importance of prioritizing Iraq’s interest on the personal and partial interest. “We need those who assume senior positions to be characterized by honesty and efficiency because efficiency alone is not enough in the reconstructing the country,” al-Maliki said during his meeting with chieftains of Bani Malik tribe. “If my party is not serving Iraq and its people there is no good in it,” the premier added. “We wan responsibility as a commitment and a duty not as a gift,” he said, noting that Iraq should enjoy more security and stability.
