2 Sahwa elements killed, wounded in Shurqat

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) A Sahwa element was killed while another was wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded to the north of Tikrit city.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com on Thursday “The IED, which was emplaced in a vehicle belongs to a Sahwa element, exploded in Jamila village of Shurqat district of northern Tikrit.”

“The IED exploded while the two Sahwa elements were returning from a security checkpoint and resulted in killing one of them and wounding the other,” the source added.

“The security forces cordoned the explosion scene transporting the dead body to the morgue and the wounded person to the hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
