17,000 voters to take part in special vote in Muthanna

Muthanna-Voting MUTHANNA / IraqiNews.com: More than 17,000 voters from security forces, prisoners and patients will take part in the Special Voting in Muthanna province, the general director of the Iraqi High Electoral Commission’s office in Muthanna said on Tuesday. “The number of voters who are eligible to take part in the special vote in Muthanna from security forces, prisoners and patients reach 17611 voters,” Muatamad Neaama al-Musawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “There is a plan prepared by the police department to facilitate the voters’ movement,” he added. “Poll stations will be opened only in hospitals and jails which have more than 100 patients or prisoners,” he noted. A total of 879 candidates, representing 50 blocs, are competing in the provincial elections in Muthanna, which will take place on January 31. Samawa, the capital of Muthanna, is 280 km south of Baghdad. SH (S)/SR 2
