Nijaifi hinders parliament performance, says Shalah

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ali al-Shalah, accused the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, of being behind hindering the performance of the parliament.

He stated to IraqiNews.com “Nijaifi hurdled the parliament by confronting the government.”

Over hosting the Commander General of the Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, in the parliament over the recent security breaches, he said “It is up to Maliki himself but the procedures taken to host him are wrong.”

“Nijaifi asked the Security and Defense Parlaimentary Committee over its opinion concerning hosting Maliki and the Committee did not recommend hosting him,” he added.

“Nijaifi is the one who added Maliki to the list of the sides who will be hosted,” he remarked.

“Maliki’s attendance to the parliament is a positive step but it must be coordinated,” he concluded.
