72,000 begin special voting in Rasafa

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A total of 72,000 voters started on Wednesday morning the special voting in Rasafa in Baghdad to elect the provincial council, the director of the media department of the electoral commission said. “The 72,000 voters, distributed in 35 electoral centers in Rasafa, started voting on Wednesday (Jan. 28),” Hussein al-Taei told IraqiNews.com news agency. The special voting day allows Iraqi security forces, detainees and hospital patients to cast ballots in the provincial elections. Judge Qassem al-Aboudi said at a press conference held earlier in central Baghdad, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency, that the number of voters registered in the Special Voting is 614998, and will vote in 75 electoral centers.
