Karbala governor perceives “conspiracy”
KARBLA / IraqiNews.com: Karbala’s governor on Wednesday described some people who are working to make him fail in the upcoming provincial election as “conspirators.” “Some people seek to make me fail in the upcoming election for political reasons,” Aqeel al-Khazaali said during a meeting with a number of pressmen today. “They are conspirators,” he added. “They issued a release saying that I spent five billion Iraqi diners during last Ashora (Shiite religious occasion),” he explained. “The release was issued before the election and aimed at political elimination,” he proceeded. “Those who refer to this issue should also consider the transportation costs of sand, and funds that were spent on the subsidized commercial concrete,” he noted, without revealing to which side he was pointing out.
