1750 displaced people in Kirkuk to vote in elections

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A total of 1750 displaced people in Kirkuk will vote in the provincial council elections, scheduled on Saturday, the director of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) office in Kirkuk said on Friday. “1759 citizens who migrated to Kirkuk and have the right to vote will cast their vote in 11 electoral centers; seven inside the city and four in the districts,” Farhad Talabani told IraqiNews.com news agency. “We have finalized all technical and administrative preparations and will move the election boxes to the electoral centers under the police protection,” Talabani added. The provincial council elections are scheduled to be held on Saturday January 31 in Iraq’s 18 provinces save Kirkuk and the three autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region provinces of Arbil, Sulaimaniya, and Duhuk. Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P) 1
