Barazani meets Emir of Kuwait

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: President of Iraq’s Kurdistan region Massoud al-Barazani on Tuesday arrived in Kuwait and met with Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, according to a presidential statement. “Barazani was received at Kuwait International Airport by the first deputy of the prime minister and defense minister, Sheikh Jaber al-Hamad al-Sabah; an advisor in the crown prince’s cabinet, Hammoud Mohammed al-Uteibi; the chief of the crown prince’s office, Sheikh Mubarak Faisal al-Suoud al-Sabah and other senior officials,” a statement quoted the Kurdistan presidential cabinet chief, Fouad Hussein, as saying. Earlier today, Hussein said that Barazani headed for Kuwait on a Gulf tour to discuss the political situation in Iraq and the region. Afterwards, Barazani will head for Qatar upon an official invitation from its leader. Barazani leads a delegation that includes several ministers and regional officials, Hussein added. SS (P) 1
