MP killed in suicide bombing

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: The deputy head of the Iraqi Front for National Dialogue on Sunday was killed in a suicide bombing in Ninewa’s al-Shurqat district, according to a local police source. “At 07:00 p.m. today, a suicide bomber wearing an explosives belt broke into the guesthouse of MP Hassan Zidan al-Laheebi in al-Hajj village, al-Qayara district (60 km south of Mosul) and blew himself up,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The blast killed Laheebi and wounded two of his security personnel, the source added. Salah al-Din has an area of 24,751 square kilometers (9,556.4 sq mi).
