Families leave their houses due to rain floods in Wasit

Wasit (IraqiNews.com) Many families were displaced due to the rain floods that swept their residences in the rural areas of Wasit province.The correspondent of IraqiNews.com reported on Saturday ”Dozens of families were forced to evacuate their residences leaving their livestock behind, heading towards Sheikh Saad district of southern Wasit province since their villages and their mud-hut houses were swept due to rain floods.”

“The rain floods blocked the highway that links Kut city and Amara city while some vehicles were seen sunk,” the correspondent added.Some of the southern Iraqi provinces witnessed heavy rains during the past days which resulted in drawning many villages. \END\
