Demonstration in Baghdad demanding soccer federation SG’s resignation

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Tens of demonstrators, including the premier’s adviser, ex-athletes, and soccer fans on Saturday demonstrated in central Baghdad demanding that the Secretary General of the Iraqi soccer federation resign, after the poor performance of Iraq’s soccer team in the 19th Gulf tournament. Demonstrators gathered in al-Tahreer Square in Baghdad carrying leaflets demanding Hussein Saeed’s to resignation. Bassam al-Husseini, adviser to the Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki, participated in the demonstration. MH (P)/SR 1
