First commercial flight from Copenhagen to Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An airplane coming from Copenhagen landed in Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) on Friday in a maiden flight from Denmark to Iraq in 18 years, according to an Iraqi transport ministry spokesman. “Minister of Transport, Amir Abduljabbar, received the MD-83 plane of Nordic Airways that arrived in BIAP,” Sameer al-Shewayli told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The airplane carried Iraqi passengers coming from the Scandinavian country,” he said. “Flights between Iraq and the Scandinavian nations represent the first fruits of the Iraqi-U.S. pact,” he added.
