Martyrs Committee calls Nijaifi to enroll Debaathification Law within parliament’s agenda

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the parliament Martyrs and Political Prisoners Committee, Mohamed al-Hindawi, called the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, to include the Debaathification Law within the agenda of first session post the end of the legislative holiday of the parliament.

Hindawi said in a speech he delivered during the general conference for the mass graves that was held on Thursday in Baghdad “We call the Parliament Speaker to enlist the Debaathification Law in the agenda of the first session after resuming the parliament’s sessions, accusing Nijaifi of offending feelings of the martyrs, political prisoners, and the mass graves victims’ families for he did not display this law for vote.”

“The endorsement of the Debaathification Law will ease the anger of the Baath victims’ families as it is their right to see the Baathists punished,” he added.

The ministry of HR held the general conference over the mass graves on Thursday in Baghdad in presence of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, Vice President, Khudhaiyr al-Khuzai, the HR minister, Mohamed al-Sudani and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler besides other officials.
