Hakim, Sari discuss new alliances for PCs
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the Secretary General of the Jihad and Construction Movement, MP Hassan al-Sari, the topic of the new alliances for forming the new provincial councils.
A statement by Sari’s office reported that “The meeting discussed the issue of the new alliances for the PCs in light of the provincial elections’ results.”
“Sari and Hakim discussed the existence of the Mujahedeen of the marshes’ rights and the necessity to speed up implementing the two merging laws related to the Mujahedeen’s rights as well as discussing the provinces law and transferring of powers to the provinces,” the statement added.
According to the findings set apart by the Independent High Electoral Commission for the local elections that were conducted in twelve provinces, the State of Law Coalition won 108 seats followed by the Citizen Coalition which got 61 seats.
