Over 3,000 forged certificates in high education sector
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A total of 2,769 forged certificates have been discovered for faculty and institute students of the academic years 2003-2008, in addition to 1,054 for job applicants throughout the past three years, according to an official source. “A committee has been formed to examine all certificates obtained from foreign universities,” the General Inspector in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelmajeed al-Rawi, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Some of the holders of these forged certificates were taken to court,” he added. The phenomenon of forged certificates has emerged after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of the country and the subsequent security chaos. SS (P)/SR 1
