Rehabilitation works launched at electricity networks in areas damaged due to storm in Dhi Qar

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The engineering and technical staff of the Nasiriya Electricity Distribution Department accomplished 90% of the rehabilitation works for the power distribution networks and the transferring power lines which were damaged due to the storms that swept a number of the Dhi Qar province’s areas.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Mus’ab al-Mudaris said “The rehabilitation works were launched after the power transferring lines were damaged on 15th and 16th of last May following the strong storm where 907 electric poles fell and 91 km of wires were damaged in addition to the damaging of 359 power convertors while three high pressure towers fell which resulted in shutting down the eclectic power from 350 villages in Rifay’i district and al-Nasir and Qal’at Sikar sub-districts associated to Nasiriya city, capital of Dhi Qar province.”

“The rehabilitation works will finish within the next three days and the electric power will return to all the damaged areas,” Mudaris pointed out.
