New political alliance to form local government in Wasit

Wasit (IraqiNews.com) A new political alliance will form the local government in Wasit province.

The spokesperson of the alliance, Mahdi Younis, stated in a press conference “The new alliance is called Wasit the Future Province which comprises the Citizen bloc (7 seats), the United National Iraqiya Alliance (1 sear), the Loyal Hands Assembly (2 seats), the Just State Trend (1 seat), the Social Justice State (2 seats), al-Ataa Slate (1 seat), the Civil Alliance (1 seat) and the Brotherhood Alliance for the Feily Kurds (1 seat) to make 16 seats out of 28 in order to form the local government of Wasit province.”

“The new alliance achieves the political majority,” he added, calling Wasit’s Governor to “Expedite holding the meeting of the Provincial Council to form the government.”

The new alliance excludes the State of Law Coalition with (7 seats) and al-Ahrar Alliance with (5 seats).
