Iraqi soldier injured eastern Tikrit

Salah il-Din (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi soldier was injured due to an armed attack on a checkpoint to the east of Tikrit city, capital of Salah il-Din province.

Security source told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Wednesday “Unidentified gunmen opened fire targeted army checkpoint in Sulaiman Bek sub-district associated to Tuz district of eastern Tikrit.”

“The attack resulted in wounding one of the checkpoint’s soldiers,” the source added noting “The gunmen fled to unknown destination.”

“A security force cordoned off the incident spot, then transported the injured soldier to a hospital for treatment,” the source concluded.
