Kurdistan Region to hold PCs’ elections on 21st of September 2013

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region decided in its meeting headed by the Premier of Kurdistan Region, Nijervan Barzani, to hold the elections of the Provincial Councils on the 21st of September coincided with the parliamentary elections.

A statement by the Kurdistani Regional Government received by IraqiNews.com cited “According to the First Item of Article Ten of the PCs elections’ Law No. 21 in 2011 and after consulting the Independent High Electoral Commission in Kurdistan Region, the CoM of Kurdistan Region decided to hold the PCs’ elections on the 21st of September 2013 coincided with the parliamentary election in Kurdistan Region.”

“The specialized departments and foundations have to coordinate with the IHEC to prepare for the elections,” the statement concluded.
