Haji: SLC seeks forming expanded political front for next Parlaimentary elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahdi Haji, of the Kurdistani Alliance confirmed that the State of Law Coalition has lost in the last Provincial elections so it seeks forming expanded political front to restore its position in the next Parlaimentary elections.

He stated to IraqiNews.com “Forming such front aims at expanding the foundation of the Government since the SLC has lost in the last provincial elections where its seats were won by the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council and the Sadr Trend.”

“The SLC want to win more Parlaimentary seats by forming this front,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning that the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, revealed “We seek reaching a wide national political frame to preserve the unity of Iraq.”

Speaking to the Iraqiya Satellite Channel, he said “We are working to achieve such comprehensive and wide alliance to preserve the unity of Iraq.”

A source from the Premier’s Office announced that we do not have information about the issue of forming a new political front by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

Iraqiya Satellite Channel assured “A source from the Premier’s Office confirmed that they do not have information about this issue.”

Earlier, a new agency mentioned that a new political bloc will be formed by Maliki under the name of “National Rescue Front” where Maliki is its head and Salih al-Mutleg as well as Khudair al-Khuzayi is his deputies.
