IHEC completes its preparations for Kurdistan Region elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission announced completing the preparations for conducting the elections of Kurdistan Region.

The Deputy Head of the Commissioners Council, Kati al-Zubayi, stated to IraqiNews.com “The preparations are going on for Kurdistan Region elections according to a plan set by the Council and it will be based on the system of the biggest loser unlike the Provincial Councils elections.”

He added “The registration of the political alliances and coalitions has started in Kurdistan Region where the IHEC is available in Kurdistan Region for supervising the electoral process.”

“The number of the political entities reached 29 approved entities and later on the nomination for the Presidential post will be started,” he continued.

Concerning the elections of Anbar and Nineveh Provincial Councils, he said “The logistic and the technical preparations are done.”
