MP holds government, MoE responsible for flounder at electric power projects

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hassan Wahab, member of parliament Oil and Energy Committee held the government and the Ministry of Electricity responsible for the flounder happening at some electric power projects.

The Minister of Electricity, Karim Aftan, had announced more than once that 2013 will witness end of the electricity crisis in Iraq.

Wahab stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The flounder happening at the power projects is not only caused by the Electricity Ministry’s bad performance, but also it is resulted from the disturbing administrative procedures followed by the government in this regard,” noting “The majority of the contracts at the electricity sector were signed by the Council of Ministers not by the Electricity Ministry.”

“The request of summoning the Minister of Electricity at the parliament was not answered for political reasons, however if this request was answered we would know the size of responsibly the Ministry bears,” he emphasized.
