Police detain suspected gunman in Babel

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Monday arrested a  gunman suspected of having killed 70 people in Babel, commander of the Quick Response Department (QRD) said. “A force from the QRD arrested on Monday (Mar. 16) Ali Maher Sarhan in Arab Jabour region in northeast of Hilla,” Brig. Nuaaman Dakhel Jawad said at a press conference in Babel. “The man is suspected of having killed 70 persons,” he noted. The brigadier showed photographic pictures of that man while killing his victims as well as other pictures while torturing them. Hilla, the capital of Babel, is 100 km south of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
