BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Association to Defend Journalists’ Rights on Saturday called for an investigation into the killing of an Iraqi journalist in Mosul city. “The association calls on the Ministry of Interior and the local government in Ninewa province to conduct a wide-scale investigation into the assassination of Salam al-Douski, who worked as a correspondent for al-Hadbaa newspaper and was a member of the Kurdistan Press Syndicate,” the head of the association, Ibrahim al-Siraji, told IraqiNews.com news agency. On Thursday (Feb. 5), a police source from Ninewa said that a policeman shot Douski in front of his house in Wadi Hajar, southern Mosul, killing him on the spot.
