Legal Expert considers amending Kurdistan Region’s constitution as "Legal"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Legal Expert, Ahmed al-Ebadi, stated that Kurdistan Region has the right to amend its constitution with the approval of most of the MPs according to Article 104 of the Constitution of Kurdistan Region.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The amendment must not oppose the constitution of the central government which is stated in Article 120 of the constitution of the Republic of Iraq.”

“The constitution of Kurdistan Region sets condition for amending itself where the essential rights mentioned in the constitution should not be violated,” he concluded.
