Da’mi calls to grant Syrian refugees one-year stay in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mohamed Khudhair al-Da’mi of the Hurra Iraqiya Slate called the Prime Minister to issue one-year stay to the Syrian refugees in honor of their positive attitudes with the Iraqi refugees during the past years.

Da’mi said “Our Syrian brothers stood side by side with the Iraqi families which had escaped the violence some years ago and provided them with all kinds of support.”

“Due to the exceptional situation Syria is experiencing, we called on the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to grant the Syrian refugees one-year stay guaranteed by the Iraqis and cancel the residence fees and some routine procedures,” he added.
