Lakash calls Maliki to adopt law for reducing salaries of three presidencies

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed al-Lakash, of the Citizen bloc showed surprise over the criticism of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to the salaries of the three presidencies, calling him to adopt a law for reducing them.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “We are surprised for Maliki’s criticism to the salaries of the three presidencies while visiting the Martyrs and Political Prisoners Foundations where he stressed the necessity of reducing the salaries of the three presidencies and granting them to those who deserve them.”

Lakash wondered about the one who “Objected reducing the salaries,” assuring that “Maliki himself and his ministers did not do the law draft related to the reduction of these salaries,” noting that “We want a justification for not doing this law and why did they made justifications related to technical issues when they were requested to do it?”

“If Maliki is serious about this issue, he will have to send a law draft related to the parliament as soon as possible to be endorsed,” he added, criticizing “The decision of the Council of Ministers over granting a 150 Ms plot to the poor while the employees of the CoM and some of the ministers are granted a 600 Ms plot.”
