KA MP calls Sadr to nominate woman MP to replace Siheil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Fiyan Khalil, of the Kurdistani Alliance called the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, to nominate a woman MP to replace the First Deputy Speaker, Qusaiy al-Siheil, who submitted a resignation.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, she said “We hope to make use of Siheil’s resignation by activating the observatory role of the parliament which was delayed for a long time to strengthen the governmental performance.”

“We consider Sadr’s action as a victory to democracy when any politicians investigate the MPs of his bloc,” she added, expressing her hope over “Nominating a woman MP to replace Siheil to be the first action that is not taken by any politician.”
