Police Academy blast deaths up to 10, wounded to 30

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The death toll from Sunday’s earlier suicide bombing attack near the Police Academy in Baghdad rose to 10 while the wounded jumped to 30, a medic said. “Al-Kindi Hospital received on Sunday 10 dead bodies and 30 wounded victims of the blast that occurred near the Police Academy on Falastine street, eastern Baghdad, which had targeted police recruits,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The casualties from the blast are on the rise,” the source added. Earlier, an Iraqi security source said three police recruits were killed and 10 others wounded in the attack. “A suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew himself up on Sunday (March 8) amidst a gathering of new recruits near the Police Academy in eastern Baghdad, leaving three killed and 10 others wounded,” the security source had told IraqiNews.com.
