Some sides try to disturb Maliki’s expected visit to Russia, says SLC MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ibrahim al-Rikabi of the State of Law Coalition accused some political sides of attempting to disturb the expected visit of the Prime Minster, Nouri al-Maliki to Russia.

Maliki is expected to visit during the next few days the Russian capital, Moscow to discuss the bilateral relations and the events in the region including the Syrian crisis.

Rikabi told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Some sides which do not want good for Iraq are trying to revoke some gossip and slurs over this visit which comes within the diplomatic normal visits between the two countries.”

“This visit may will include reviewing Iraq’s need for arms,” he added noting “The corruption suspicions that accompanied the arms deal concluded between both countries in 2012 was settled and now the deal is into force.”

He expected both sides will conclude arms deal including purchasing aircrafts.
