Maliki, Russian Lukoil Co. discuss increasing investments in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki discussed during his visit to Russia, with the Russian Luk Oil Company the prospects of the mutual cooperation.

Maliki arrived to Russia yesterday, Sunday heading a ministerial delegation for two-days official visit.

A statement by the Prime Minister office reported “During receiving head of Luckoil Co. at his residence in Moscow, Maliki stressed that Iraq seeks to increase its production of oil and establish oil refiners and encourage the companies to expand their investments in these sectors.”

“For his part, Head of the Company confirmed that the Russian companies intends to double their investments in fields of oil extraction and the petrochemical industry in Iraq,” according to the statement.
