Zebari meets Executive Secretary of CTBTO

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, met Executive Secretary of the Technical Secretariat of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), Tibor Toth, at the United Nations building on Monday.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited ” Toth welcomed Zebari and congratulated him and the Iraqi government for releasing Iraq from the Seventh Chapter of the UN Charter and praised the tireless efforts of Iraq to meet its international obligations, expressing the Secretariat’s readiness to provide technical assistance in the training of Iraqi cadres.”

“Zebari expressed his pleasure for meeting Executive Secretary, noting that the Iraqi government took several steps to meet its obligations related to disarmament and non-proliferation, calling on the organization to continue training and developing the specialized Iraqi cadres,” the statement concluded.
