48 wanted men, 19 suspects arrested in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested 48 wanted persons on “criminal and terror” charges, in addition to 19 suspects during a wide-scale security operation throughout Basra on Tuesday, said a source from the province’s police. “Four of those arrested are wanted on terror charges, while the rest (44) are wanted on criminal cases,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The forces also detained 15 drivers and seized their vehicles for not possessing proper legal documents,” he said. “A total of 26 mortar shells were seized in eastern Basra,” he added.
