Barzani, US Ambassador to Iraq discuss political situation in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The US Ambassador to Iraq, Steven Beecroft, described the last visit of President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to Baghdad as good step to address the problems.

The US Ambassador met with Barzani on Monday in Erbil where they discussed the political situation in Iraq.

Beecfroft expressed during the meeting his country’s support for Barzani’s visit to Baghdad and his meeting with the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, describing the visit as start for resolving the political process’s problems.

For his part, Barzani thanked the USA’s support for Iraq and stressed that the Iraqis are looking forward to see positive results for such meetings and visits.
